Give us this mountain – come over to Macedonia and help us
Bible text: Luke 15:11-13; 17-32 We are going to re-visit the nation of Macedonia, we are going to raise a cry to God our Father, to “give us this mountain of Macedonia”. But before we do that, we will again examine ourselves before God this morning, let us ask God to so shine His light in our hearts, where we have behaved or demonstrated qualities similar to the big brother in the above parable, may the Lord forgive us. The big brother’s heart was not aligned with that of his father, his heart was not where the father’s heart was. He failed to see the joy that overwhelmed his father’s heart at the return of his once lost son. The big brother failed to see that he already had an inheritance in the father: Luke 15:31 “And he said to him, son you are always with me and all that I have is yours”. All he needed to do was to be glad and rejoice with his father in that his lost brother had now come to his senses and had re-gained his inheritance in the father. What a glorious moment ...
