Macedonia (Apostle Paul’s missionary First Fruit)
It is a large and celebrated country
lying north of Greece, the first part of Europe which received the gospel
directly from St Paul and an important scene of his subsequent missionary
labours and those of his companions.
Marked Characteristics:
The bond uniting Paul and the
Macedonian Christians seems to have been a peculiarly close and affectionate
one. Their liberality and open-heartedness, their joyousness and patience in
trial and persecution, their activity in spreading the Christian faith, their
love of the brethren –these are a few of the characteristic which Paul
specially commends in them.
(1&2 Thessalonians;
Philippians, 2 Corinthians 1:8)
Studies also recorded Macedonia
linking to 1000s of sources around the world.
Macedonia currently has 2 Major
Mission works:
Currently, a report quoted
Macedonian President Skopje on the 11th of July 2016 (MIA)- The Republic of
Macedonia is strongly committed to the Euro-Atlantic integration mission, whose
efforts are unquestionably supported by NATO members, particularly by the
United States.
Macedonia’s Army was commended
for producing excellent results and showcasing top capabilities in peace
missions particularly for their Resolute Support in Afghanistan.
Praying for Macedonia at this
present time is actually by the move of the Holy Spirit and I believed it is
the right time to lift up the nation
Macedonia was the first country
in Europe to receive the Gospel of Christ directly from Apostle Paul. We are
going to lift up Macedonia in Prayer as a point of contact for revival in
Europe. Macedonia first received the Gospel in history as God’s grace upon the
life of Apostle Paul and his companion. So also, in our own time as we labour
in prayer and in deliberate action, it shall be recorded across Europe nations
and the nations of the world that the fire of revival started from
Macedonian. Amen.
PRAYERS
·
Let pray against ignorance of the knowledge of
the Lord and His Word (Gen 28:16-17) and that the Knowledge of the Lord will
fill the land (Habakkuh 2:14/Isiah 11:9/Psalms 98:2).
·
Let pray in line with Book of Daniel (11:32) and
John 17:3
·
Let pray for the light of the Gospel of Christ
Jesus to shine and guide the nation. (Isiah
42:6/Isiah 60:1-3/ John 8:12 Light of Life)
·
Let pray for our co-labourers that are on the
ground in Macedonia for physical strength. That their strength shall be renewed
like eagles; pray for the hands of God to rest upon them for good; pray for
more open doors and abundant grace to move at the right time.; they shall not
miss any door of opportunities; Let us pray against any devices of the enemy.
Let us pray for abundant provision for their needs. Let us pray that ‘Christ
and Him crucify ‘will only be their message and shall be seen clearly in their
own lives ( 1 Cor 2:2).
