Daniel 4:17(NKJV)
“This decision is by the decree of the watchers, and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men,
Gives it to whomever He will and sets over it the lowest of men”.
·      Thousands of protesters filled the streets in cities across Venezuela yesterday, Wednesday in an effort to depose President Nicolas Maduro, the socialist leader who has overseen one of the most devastating economic collapses in the world.
·      President Donald Trump has joined them in calling for Maduro to step down — saying, “The citizens of Venezuela have suffered for too long at the hands of the illegitimate Maduro regime. Today, I have officially recognized the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Juan Guaido, as the Interim President of Venezuela”.
·      Juan Guaido has sworn himself in as the new interim President of Venezuela.
·      The Trump administration backs Juan Guaido, the leader of the country’s opposition-controlled legislative body, who claims he is the country’s rightful president.
·      Guaido, along with the Trump administration and many international observers, asserts that Maduro rigged the election last May that kept him in power
·      Guaido wants the country’s military to back him and called for people to protest to compel Maduro’s resignation.
·      Guaido will start to assume the presidential role on Wednesday and that he will call for new elections in the future. He doesn’t plan to hold on to the presidency indefinitely, he says.
·      But experts caution that Maduro will likely maintain power since he still has a strong hold over the country’s major institutions.
·      This means, that the country could be heading into a dangerous political showdown.
·      This comes after millions of Venezuelans have fled the country in recent years due to a crippling economic downturn — a crisis largely caused by Maduro’s mis-handling of the economy.
o   Inflation is through the roof.
o   Hunger rates have skyrocketed.
o   diseases once thought to have been eradicated have sparked a health crisis.
·      This has made Maduro deeply unpopular; his approval rating is below 20%.
·      Despite being leader of the National Assembly, Guaido was largely unknown until recently, when pictures of him speaking to large crowds led many in the country to see the 35-year-old as Venezuela’s Barack Obama.
·      But although he may have the support of thousands of Venezuelans — and the leaders of the US, Canada, and many countries in the region — experts say Guaido may not ultimately succeed.
·      That’s because Maduro still controls many of the country’s institutions, particularly the military. So unless the US plans to intervene directly in Venezuela, it seems unlikely Guaido and his supporters will see Maduro’s downfall anytime soon.
·      This comes as a result of a lack of fear and reverence in God. Leaders do as they please because they feel they own the land and the people.
·      Where is the Church in all this, why is the church not intervening?
Judges 16:20 (NKJV)
“And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him”.
·      The Church has lost its power.
·      It has been pushed to the background, without a voice, a non-entity.

PRAYERS
·      Lord, you that rule over the affairs of nations, come and intervene over the Venezeula, give it to whomever You will.
Psalms 118:14(GNT) “The Lord makes me powerful and strong, He has saved me”.
Acts 1:8(GNT) “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth”
·      Holy Spirit come over your Church in North America and fill it afresh with Your power, strengthen Your church Lord, give it a voice over matters.
Colossians 4:3-4(AMPC) “And at the same pray for us also, that God may open a door to us for the Word (the Gospel), to proclaim the mystery concerning Christ(The Messiah) on account of which I am in prison; 4 That I may proclaim it fully and make it clear [speak boldly and unfold that mystery], as is my duty.
·      Lord let doors be opened for the true Gospel of Christ to be boldly proclaimed in North America and beyond.
·      Father let the Church be at the epicentre, use it mightily for the furtherance of the Gospel, use it to unfold the mystery concerning Christ to those in North America.
1 Corinthians 16:9 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) 9 For a wide door of opportunity for effectual [service] has opened to me [there, a great and promising one], and [there are] many adversaries.
2 Corinthians 2:12 &14 Living Bible (TLB) 12 Well, when I got as far as the city of Troas, the Lord gave me tremendous opportunities to preach the Gospel.  14 But thanks be to God! For through what Christ has done, he has triumphed over us so that now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Gospel like a sweet perfume.
·      This shall be our testimony, the church and Christians alike over North America, you will use the Church and individuals to spread the Gospel like sweet perfume over North America in Jesus’ name.
Psalm 118:7 Good News Translation (GNT) 7 It is the Lord who helps me, and I will see my enemies defeated.
Psalm 118:13 Good News Translation (GNT) 13 I was fiercely attacked and was being defeated, but the Lord helped me.
·      Lord Nigeria is like an unborn baby that has tied its neck with its own umbilical code, come and help Nigeria, deliver it from itself and bring it to Calvary.
Hosea 14:5-6 5 I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven. Israel will blossom like the lily; it will send roots deep into the soil like the cedars in Lebanon.
·      Lord let Your Word and Your Spirit refresh Nigeria like dew from heaven that it may once again blossom and become deeply rooted and grounded in Christ.
