Northern Ireland

Introduction

Northern Ireland is variously described as a country, province or region which is part of the United Kingdom. Located in the northeast of the island of Ireland, Northern Ireland shares a border to the south and west with the Republic of Ireland, Belfast is the capital city under the leadership, president Michael D. Higgins.

Economy 

Northern Ireland has traditionally had an industrial economy, most notably in shipbuilding, rope manufacture and textiles, but most heavy industry has since been replaced by services, primarily the public sector.

Seventy percent of the economy's revenue comes from the service sector. Apart from the public sector, another important service sector is tourism, which rose to account for over 1% of the economy's revenue in 2004.

Religion 

Christianity is the main religion in Northern Ireland. The UK 2011 census showed 40.8%. Catholic, 19.1%, Presbyterian Church with the Church of Ireland 13.7% and the Methodist Church 5.0%. Other minor religion includes; Islam, Judaism, Baha'i Faith, Neo-paganism and Hinduism.

The people of this country are majorly Christians but in 2017 Northern Ireland was rated as the worst place in the United Kingdom for LGBT people with 74% equality of rights compared to 86% LGBT in United kingdom overall and 92% equality in Scotland.

Politics

The Northern Ireland Assembly has been inactive since January 2017 when its two biggest parties split in a bitter row unable to come to a term on power-sharing. The country has been with no government for two years which recently aroused crisis among the citizen (Matt 12: 25 “….every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation”).

 There is a group of paramilitary organisations UDA (Ulster Defence Association) their stated aims were to protect but in reality it was little more than a criminal and sectarian gang.

Amidst of the ongoing crisis Police operation targets west Belfast UDA: Three men have been arrested and cash, drugs and a vehicle were seized during a police operation targeting the west Belfast Ulster Defence Association.

1John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

·      We ask that you have mercy upon the nation (2Chr 7:14)

·      We ask that your light shines and dispel every darkness

·      We ask that your kingdom will come

·      We ask that you flood the land with your mercy and grace

·      We ask that you heal the land and consume all darkness

·      We ask that you fill the land with righteousness and truth of your Word

·      We ask that you bring peace and unity among the governance

·      We ask that you restore the executives even as they navigate through
 difficult circumstances bringing peace to the nation, grant them wisdom (Mk 3:25 If a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand)

    In 3rd of September, over 1500 Christians across Northern Ireland to pray for the soul of the Nation.

·    Oh Lord in you mercy, hear the petition of your children, even on this platform

·    The unspoken happenings unable to remember on this platform, oh Lord you know about it, let there be a great change, raise for yourself agents of transformation for revival in that land.
